To be a DVRP volunteer or bilingual advocate you need to participate in a 40+ hour advocates training, which DVRP offers twice a year.

Volunteer advocates work mainly with English-speaking survivors and are not required to provide services during regular business hours.

Bilingual advocates work with limited English proficient survivors and are required to be available on an on-call basis during regular business hours. Our advocates work with survivors by providing social service support, which encompasses activities like peer counseling, accompaniment to court, and interpretation assistance.
